Obituary of Francisco Salas Castaneda

Francisco “El Paton” Castaneda Salas 73 passed away April 18, 2024. Francisco was born October 3, 1950, in Amatitan Jalisco MX to Jose Dolores Salas and Maria Castaneda Salas. Francisco and his family were raised in Mecatan, Nayarit.

Francisco was married to his wife Frances Salas for 46 years.

Francisco was a very hard-working man that never backed down from a challenge, Francisco was always there to share a kind word when needed and wise words that felt like he was scolding but in reality, it was from a place of love and wanting everyone to do well. He loved to make his friends and family laugh with his endless supply of funny jokes and stories. Even when he was in so much pain, he was still talking and sharing his life lessons to comfort his family.

Francisco enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to be surrounded by his daughter Taina and granddaughters Isis, Nubia, and Ryezelle. He was always happy to see and spend time with his honorary grandson Evan. One of his greatest joys was singing to his great grandkids Calliope and Tommy.

Francisco had a special place in his heart for his niece Griselda and the whole Palafox Family.

Francisco is survived by his wife Frances, his daughter Taina. Stepchildren Yesenia, Iris and Armando. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Francisco is preceded in death by his parents Jose Dolores and Maria Castaneda Salas. Siblings Jose Salas, Petra Salas and Pedro Salas and his grandson Desi Sepulveda Jr.

Francisco’s legacy will live on through his family he loved so much.

A visitation for Francisco will take place on Thursday, May 2nd from 1-6pm with a Rosary Prayer Service at 4pm at Healey Mortuary.  His Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 3rd at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10am followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
