Obituary of Mike Ramirez

On December 23rd 2021 Mike "Big Mike" Ramirez, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Mike Ramirez will be loved and missed by many as he was an important pillar of the community as well as a dutiful family man. He is survived by his longtime partner Gloria, his sons, his daughters, his grandchildren, his siblings, nephews and nieces, and many more who considered him as their own family member.

Mike Ramirez spent his early days growing up in a corporate encampment picking vegetables with his family. He got the opportunity to move to Salinas where he would lay down his permanent roots and eventually become a union cement mason.

Mike Ramirez was more than a hard worker and loving family man. He was a civil rights activist and even got to march with Cesar Chavez. He was also the first president of the New Arrivals car club. Mike was well known, respected, and loved by all who knew him.

Mike had a warm heart. He was always thinking of others and knew the right words to say in any situation. He was a devoted grandfather who provided support, wisdom, and encouragement. He adored his grandchildren and they will forever be grateful for all the happy and memorable moments that were shared. The love he had for them will always be treasured.

Mike, Big Mike, Uncle Mike, Gramps, Coach will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered most for his generous, kind, and loving heart- as well as his sharp wit and incredible sense of humor.
