Obituary of Herman Wayne Walker

Herman W. Walker, 87, passed away at Natividad Medical Center on Nov. 20th, 2018 due to a short illness of pneumonia.  He was born to Floe Parris (Oklahoma) and Azz Walker (Tennessee) in San Juan Bautista.  He was a graduate of Hollister High.  He joined the Army and served in the Korean War with an honorable discharge.   He was employed with Kaiser National Refractories in Moss Landing until retiring in 1985.  He raised his family in Aromas, and later lived in the Royal Oaks area where he enjoyed raising & riding horses.   After retirement, he enjoyed oil painting and was a member of the Pajaro Valley Artists Assoc.  Prior to aquiring Alzheimer's, he was a member of the American Legion Post #593-Prunedale, enjoyed playing Pool, going to the casino to play Poker and Black Jack, and especially enjoyed singing country/western songs while playing his guitar & harmonica at family BBQs and gatherings.

Preceding him in death were his siblings; 2 brothers and 1 sister. His only Son, Clint, died tragically in an accident in 1974. He also leaves 2 Daughters;  Deborah (Kris) Machado, Audrey Prieto, 4 Grandsons; Arthur Morales-Baca, Adrian Morales-Baca, Travis Brannon, Brian Machado, 3 Great-Grandchildren; Verity Buitrone-Baca, Tyler Brannon,  Jacob Machado, and a Nephew Monty Walker.   He also leaves the Mother of his children/dedicated friend, Alice Walker.

The family would like to give a huge Thank-you to the Windsor-Skyline Salinas, and a special Thank you to Dr. McAndrew at Natividad, and Thank you to Healey's for their exceptional concern in handling the arrangements.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
