Aunt Paula was the best listener, I remember our many 3 hour phone calls, we always had so much to talk about. I remember riding horses when I was a little girl with Aunt Paula and Uncle Mack, those are some of my most cherished memories. I always look forward to all our family gatherings at Aunt Paula's house, I will truly miss that, and I will miss her. Thank you Aunt Paula for always knowing exactly what to say, and the right time to say it. I love you.

Jerry, Terry and Family, We are sad for your loss and ours. You two are incredible sons, you provided a wonderful caring environment for your mom in her last days. How fortunate she was to have you care for her in her home, that is where she wanted to be. Surrounded by all those that she loved and who loved her. She loved you both so very much..and all of the kids too! We were blessed to have her for our Aunt! Take care..We love you...Kathy

My heart was made sad when I learned of Paula's passing. We were first cousins and even though we were miles apart, we always stayed in touch with each. I treasure the year 2001 when my late husband & I visited in Paula's home. Of course she had a large gathering of family & food for us to enjoy. Paula's life here on this earth was short. But she certainly lived life to the fullest. She was always one you could talk at ease with. Paula will be truly missed by this cousin in Louisiana (formally from Arkansas).

To the family: My sincere sympathy for your loss on this earth; & I wish you joy in the knowledge that she is in the presence of God, and has heard "well done good & faithful servant". There are so many memories... I was 14 when I met Granny. Through our ups & downs, the bond we formed persevered. I loved to hear her tell stories. Many nights we would sit up unti 2 or 3 am, and just talk. She was a great listener & always had an opinion. In recent years Bill & I would look forward to the Oakie cake that she made for my birthdays. We have laughed & we have cried. She shared my hurts, my deepest secrets, & my greatest happiness. She knew me at my best, and at my ugliest. She was a wonderful Granny to my children Paula (& Johnny) & Jeff (& Ariel). A couple of weeks ago, we had a long visit. During this visit, I told her she was a role model for me as a grandparent for Serenity & Jonah (her great grandchildren). Tears came to her eyes, and she said that was the best compliment she could ever receive. As I was leaving, I hugged her good bye, she told me she loved me & I said I loved her too. This is my last memory of Granny. She was an amazing woman, full of life, love, advice, laughter & music; a woman of God; & a true matriarch. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives.

How can a time be so joyful and yet sad? Just knowing that Paula is more alive and well today and that she is in the presence of Jesus and loved ones eases the void she leaves in our lives. I can just hear the laughter in heaven as she and Mack are together again. Oh, my, how they loved and loved to laugh. It makes us look forward to that glad reunion. You are all in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this time of grief. May the Lord wrap His arms of Love and Comfort around each of you and fill your hearts with the beautiful memory of a life lived faithfully. Goodnight, dear Paula. See you in the morning.
